Die schleswig-holsteinischen CDU-Bundestagsabgeordneten haben am 6. und 7. August 2012 die zum Kreis Pinneberg gehörende Hochseeinsel Helgoland besucht, um sich über die gegenwärtigen
Herausforderungen der Insel, insbesondere im Rahmen des Baus der Offshore-Windkraftanlagen vor Helgoland zu informieren.
„Helgoland wird derzeit zum ersten Service-Hafen für die geplanten Offshore-Windparks ausgebaut. Der Insel kommt deshalb bei der Energiewende eine wichtige Pionierfunktion zu. Darin wollen
wir Helgoland auch von Bundesseite unterstützen“, so der Parlamentarische Staatsekretär beim Bundesminister des Inneren und Vorsitzende der CDU-Landesgruppe Schleswig-Holstein Dr. Ole Schröder.
Der Helgoländer Bürgermeister Jörg Singer erläuterte dafür während eines Treffens die derzeitigen Probleme, insbesondere den durch die Ansiedlung von Offshore-Unternehmen zunehmenden Mangel an
Flächen und Wohnraum auf der Insel.
Um dieses Problem möglichst bald zu lösen will sich Ole Schröder nun gemeinsam mit seinen schleswig-holsteinischen Kollegen für einen Helgoland-Gipfel mit der für viele der Flächen zuständigen
Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA) einsetzen:
Schröder: „Ich habe mich bereits an den Chef der BImA Dr. Jürgen Gehb gewandt und ihm in einem Schreiben die Problematik verdeutlicht. Wir werden versuchen noch in diesem Herbst einen Termin für
einen solchen Gipfel zu vereinbaren, damit in Frage kommende Flächen möglichst bald von der Gemeinde übernommen werden können.“
Auch für den weiteren Ausbau der Infrastruktur im Rahmen der Ansiedlung von Offshore-Windenergie wollen sich die Abgeordneten in Berlin stark machen. „Auf Helgoland entscheidet sich mit, wie gut
wir die Energiewende voranbringen und wie wir Chancen für die Zukunft nutzen können“, so Schröder.
Neben den geplanten Offshore-Windparks war die Forschung auf Helgoland zweiter Schwerpunkt der Reise. Die Abgeordneten konnten sich ein Bild von der Arbeit des Alfred-Wegener-Instituts (AWI)
machen und erhielten Einblick in wichtige Forschungsfelder: „Das AWI auf Helgoland ist eine der bedeutendsten Forschungseinrichtungen für Meereswissenschaft und Klimawandel in Deutschland. Dies
wollen wir auch von Bundesseite noch mehr unterstützen und damit gleichzeitig eines der wichtigsten Zukunftsstandbeine Helgolands fördern“, so Schröder abschließend.
